This month’s photo trip is to Clarks Creek. We will be meeting at the Crossroads Country Store and BP gas station on the corner of 81 and 107 at 8:30 AM and carpooling from there. This is between Jonesborough and Erwin. Location: 3401 Hwy 81 S, Jonesborough, TN 3765
The trail is described as an easy, fairly well-worn path with some rocks. Great hike for those new to hiking. It feels remote, fairly easy, short, and a great payoff at the end for the falls. The one stream crossing has flat rocks nicely positioned for a dry crossing. About 0.6 miles from parking to the falls.
The topic for this month’s meeting is Long Exposures. Richard Siggins will go over
- What is long exposure photography
- How to create a long exposure photograph
- Determining exposure times
- Composition and challenges
Come out for this month’s meeting at 6:30 in the Eastman Employee Center.
This months Camera Club meeting is on August 17, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at the Employee Recreation Center. This month Ron Zucker will be presenting “Weather or Not to Take Photos”. He has some awesome tips for every kind of weather. Hope to see you there!
Weather or Not to Take Photos
Weather can have a tremendous affect on your photography, While we all look forward to those bright sunny days, there are days when the weather can add drama, excitement, and even calming affects to you photos. This presentation will introduce us to some shots where weather has enhanced the photo experience.
Ron likes all things photographic. He started with a Canon AE1-P in the early 80s, switched to videoography, and is now doing both videoography (Canon XHA1S) and digital photography (Nikon D7200). He loves to travel and his favorite subject is natural beauty. This will be his fourth presentation to the Eastman Camera Club.

Join us for a great program at the July 20 club meeting. Chris Duncan will be doing a presentation on equipment, techniques, and locations for photographing the solar eclipse.
On Monday, August 21, 2017, all of North America will be treated to an eclipse of the sun. We are close enough to be able to easily travel to the path of totality and see one of nature’s most awe-inspiring sights – a total solar eclipse. This path, where the moon will completely cover the sun and the sun’s tenuous atmosphere – the corona – can be seen, will stretch from Lincoln Beach, Oregon to Charleston, South Carolina. Observers in the Tri-Cities area will still see a partial solar eclipse where the moon covers part of the sun’s disk.
Path of Totality
